Job summary

Auto Skills UK in Reading is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to service, maintain and repair heavy vehicles to manufacturer standards. You will diagnose mechanical, electrical and electronic faults and prepare vehicles for MOT, with focus on quality and safety.

The role offers industry-leading training, progression opportunities and an overtime-friendly environment with enhanced pay for overtime and weekends. A Full UK Driving Licence is required.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• Previous experience as an HGV Technician or Commercial Vehicle Technician.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• HGV Licence advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair HGVs.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and electronic faults.
• Carry out inspections and prepare vehicles for MOT.
• Complete repairs in line with manufacturer standards.
• Accurately complete workshop documentation.
• Support apprentices and trainee technicians where required.

Salary: Up to £23.00 per hour DOE + Overtime
Hours: Monday to Friday Rotating Early & Late Shifts
