Job summary

Kautec Recruitment is seeking a fully qualified HGV Technician in the Greater Manchester area for a workshop-based role. You will be working on a variety of tractor and trailer units, including EVs, with a Monday to Friday day shift from 8am to 5:30pm and a 45-hour week.

The position offers a salary up to £46,000 p/a, pension, sick pay, holidays, and secure on-site parking. You will perform MOT prep, servicing to DVSA standards, and inspections on hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified HGV technician with City & Guilds/NVQ or equivalent.
• IRTEC or EV qualification desirable.
• Experience with HGV maintenance, inspections and DVSA standards.

Responsibilities

• Routine maintenance and preventative maintenance on tractor and trailer units.
• MOT preparation and DVSA-compliant servicing.
• 6 (or 8) weekly inspections and system checks.
• Work on hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems and wiring inspections.
• Adhere to workshop processes and safety standards.

Are you a fully qualified HGV Fitter, HGV Mechanic, HGV Technician living in the Greater Manchester area looking for a workshop based role?

Are you looking for a Monday to Friday, day shift role, 8am - 5:30pm

Hours: 45 per week. Salary up to £46,000p/a, pension, sick pay, holidays etc, free, secure on-site parking.

The role of the HGV Technician: You will be working on a variety of tractor and trailer units of differing makes and models, including gritters, RCV's Refuge vehicles, Diesel and EV vehicles.

The type of work as an HGV Technician you can expect to be carrying out includes (but is not limited to)

• Routine (and preventative) maintenance
• MOT preparation
• Scheduled servicing to DVSA standards
• 6 (or 8) weekly inspections
• Hydraulics and pneumatics
• Electrical and wiring inspections and corrections

Requirements for this HGV Technician position:

• Ideally you will be fully qualified (City & Guilds), NVQ or equivalent.
• Additional accreditations such as IRTEC or an EV qualification would be desirable but not essential.
