Job summary

Kautec Recruitment is recruiting an HGV Technician in Sheffield. This permanent, full-time role is 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00am–6:00pm, with overtime opportunities and a salary up to £45,000 per annum.

The successful candidate will service and inspect a diverse fleet including tractor units, trailers, flat beds, rigids and curtain-sided vehicles, with DVSA-compliant servicing and MOT preparation requirements.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified HGV technician with City & Guilds or NVQ or equivalent.
• IRTEC or EV qualification desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Routine maintenance and inspections of HGV fleet.
• MOT preparation and servicing to DVSA standards.
• Scheduled servicing and 6 (or 8) weekly inspections.
• Identify and rectify running defects.

Education

City & Guilds HGV Technician qualification

NVQ or equivalent

IRTEC (desirable)

EV qualification desirable (not essential)

Monday to Friday, Permanent, Full-time role, 45 hours per week, 8:00am - 6pm shift

Salary up to £45,000p/a (plus overtime)

The role of the HGV Technician

You will be working on a variety of tractor units and trailers, Flat beds, rigids and curtain sided. You will be carrying out inspections and general maintenance to a diverse fleet and you can expect to be situated in a positive and vibrant working environment.

Responsibilities of a HGV Technician (but is not limited to)

• Routine (and preventative) maintenance
• MOT preparation
• Scheduled servicing to DVSA standards
• 6 (or 8) weekly inspections
• Correction of running defects

Requirements for this HGV Technician position

• Fully qualified (City & Guilds), NVQ or equivalent.
• Additional accreditations such as IRTEC or an EV qualification would be desirable but not essential.
