Job summary

Consult2Recruit is recruiting an experienced HGV Technician for a busy Trafford Park workshop in Manchester. You will service, maintain, diagnose and repair a range of heavy vehicles within a professional team.The role offers a £50,000–£55,000 basic salary with overtime, Monday to Friday day shifts, and full-time permanent employment with opportunities for progression and training in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or Commercial Vehicle Technician.
• Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills.
• Experience working on HGVs, trucks or heavy commercial vehicles.
• NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance desirable.
• HGV Licence desirable but not essential.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Professional approach with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs and commercial vehicles.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults.
• Complete preventative maintenance and vehicle inspections.
• Ensure work is performed to high standards and compliance.
• Maintain accurate records and work as part of a professional workshop team.

Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 basic + overtime

Overtime: Time & ½ after 45 hours

The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Technician to join a well-established and growing commercial vehicle workshop based in Trafford Park.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled HGV Technician or HGV Mechanic to join a reputable business with a strong customer base and a commitment to maintaining high standards of workmanship.

The successful candidate will play an important role within the workshop, carrying out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs across a range of heavy commercial vehicles.

The Role

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on a range of HGVs and commercial vehicles
• Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical and electrical faults
• Completing preventative maintenance and vehicle inspections
• Carrying out repairs efficiently and to a high standard
• Ensuring all work is completed in line with health, safety and compliance requirements
• Maintaining accurate records of work completed
• Working effectively as part of a professional workshop team
• Supporting the day-to-day operation of the workshop

About You

• Previous experience working as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or Commercial Vehicle Technician
• Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
• Experience working on HGVs, trucks or heavy commercial vehicles
• A recognised qualification such as NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent is desirable
• An HGV Licence is desirable but not essential
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A professional approach and strong attention to detail
• A commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship
