Job summary

Consult2Recruit is seeking an experienced HGV Technician for a full-time permanent role in Trafford Park, Manchester. The technician will service, maintain, diagnose and repair heavy commercial vehicles within a busy workshop.

Candidate should have strong mechanical and diagnostic skills and a relevant NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds qualification. Salary is £50,000-£55,000 with overtime after 45 hours; Monday to Friday, day shifts, with progression and training opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs and commercial vehicles.

HGV Technician

Location: Trafford Park, Manchester

Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 basic + overtime

Overtime: Time & ½ after 45 hours

Hours: Monday to Friday, day shifts

The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Technician to join a well-established and growing commercial vehicle workshop based in Trafford Park.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled HGV Technician or HGV Mechanic to join a reputable business with a strong customer base and a commitment to maintaining high standards of workmanship.

The successful candidate will play an important role within the workshop, carrying out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs across a range of heavy commercial vehicles.

The Role

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on a range of HGVs and commercial vehicles


• Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical and electrical faults


• Completing preventative maintenance and vehicle inspections


• Carrying out repairs efficiently and to a high standard


• Ensuring all work is completed in line with health, safety and compliance requirements


• Maintaining accurate records of work completed


• Working effectively as part of a professional workshop team


• Supporting the day-to-day operation of the workshop

About You

• Previous experience working as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or Commercial Vehicle Technician


• Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills


• Experience working on HGVs, trucks or heavy commercial vehicles


• A recognised qualification such as NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent is desirable


• An HGV Licence is desirable but not essential


• The ability to work independently and as part of a team


• A professional approach and strong attention to detail


• A commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship
