Job summary

Auto Skills UK in Lutterworth is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join an established commercial vehicle workshop. You will service, maintain and repair HGVs and trailers, diagnose faults with specialist equipment and maintain safety standards.

The role offers 40 hours per week on rotating shifts, with 06:00-14:00 and 14:00-22:00, 30-minute paid breaks, and progression through manufacturer training and pension/healthcare benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
• Level 3 NVQ or City & Guilds in HGV maintenance and repair preferred.
• IRTEC qualification advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintaining and repairing HGVs and trailers.
• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults with specialist equipment.
• Carrying out routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Following manufacturer procedures and completing accurate service records.
• Maintaining high health and safety standards.

Lutterworth | £45,000-£50,000 DOE | Rotating Shifts

Description

We are recruiting for an experienced HGV Technician to join an established commercial vehicle workshop.

Salary - £45,000-£50,000, depending on experience

Shift Pattern

• 40 hours per week.
• Rotating weekly: 06:00-14:00 / 14:00-22:00.
• 30-minute paid break daily.
• Alternate Saturdays: 06:00-12:00.

The HGV Technician Role

As an HGV Technician, your duties will include:

• Servicing, maintaining and repairing HGVs and trailers.
• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults using specialist equipment.
• Carrying out routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Following manufacturer procedures and completing accurate service records.
• Maintaining high standards of health and safety.

Requirements

The successful HGV Technician will have:

• Minimum 3 years' relevant experience.
• Level 3 NVQ or City & Guilds qualification in HGV maintenance and repair preferred.
• IRTEC qualification advantageous.
• Strong mechanical, diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• A professional and dependable approach.
• HGV driving licence desirable but not essential.
