Consult2Recruit is recruiting an experienced HGV Technician for a well-established commercial vehicle operation in Dunstable. The role offers a competitive hourly rate, a structured shift pattern, and a comprehensive benefits package.

The ideal candidate will hold a C&G or NVQ Level 3 HGV Technician qualification with proven hands-on experience, strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, and a full clean driving licence. HGV licence is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair HGVs to a high standard.
• Carry out routine servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify faults and complete repairs.
• Carry out scheduled safety inspections.
• Identify and report any additional repairs or rectification work required.
• Complete job cards and workshop documentation accurately.
• Liaise with the Shift Supervisor regarding daily workload and allocated tasks.
• Participate in the breakdown and call-out rota when required.

Location: Dunstable

Salary: Up to £23.50 per hour (£53,768 per annum) DOE

Hours: 44 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Shifts: 06:00-16:00 / 12:00-22:00

Friday: 06:00-15:00 / 12:00-21:00

Overtime: Saturdays as required

We are currently recruiting for an experienced and qualified HGV Technician to join a well-established commercial vehicle operation based in Dunstable.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled HGV Technician looking for a permanent position offering a competitive hourly rate, structured shift pattern and a comprehensive benefits package.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair HGVs to a high standard.
• Carry out routine servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify faults and complete repairs.
• Carry out scheduled safety inspections.
• Identify and report any additional repairs or rectification work required.
• Complete job cards and workshop documentation accurately.
• Liaise with the Shift Supervisor regarding daily workload and allocated tasks.

Essential Requirements

• C&G or NVQ Level 3 HGV Technician qualification.
• Proven experience working as an HGV Technician.

• Full clean driving licence.
• HGV driving licence would be advantageous.

Hours & Shift Pattern

The position is based on a 44-hour working week, Monday to Friday, with technicians working a rotating shift pattern:

• Early Shift: 06:00-16:00
• Late Shift: 12:00-22:00
• Fridays: 06:00-15:00 or 12:00-21:00

The working day includes a 1-hour unpaid lunch break.

Saturday working may be required, depending on operational requirements.
