Job summary

Perfect Placement UK Ltd in Exeter is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join a reputable team and contribute to high standards of vehicle maintenance and customer service. You will play a key role in servicing and repairing commercial fleets, ensuring reliability and uptime for clients.

The successful candidate will have City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3, a full UK driving licence, and the ability to work across shifts with a proactive attitude and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Qualified HGV Technician with City & Guilds / NVQ Level Three or equivalent.
• Proven experience working with commercial vehicles.
• Full UK driving licence; HGV licence is advantageous but not essential.
• Previous experience in a similar role within the motor trade sector.
• Positive attitude, motivated, and dependable work ethic.
• Ability to multi-task and maintain high standards under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Conduct vehicle inspections, routine servicing, and fault diagnostics.
• Perform repairs across all aspects of commercial vehicles.
• Book vehicles into the workshop and ensure timely completion of work.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT testing and present them accordingly.
• Assist with roadside breakdowns and recovery operations.
• Liaise with the workshop team to optimise workflow and customer satisfaction.
• Complete all relevant paperwork accurately and promptly.
• Test drive vehicles post-repair to verify standards are met.
