Job summary

INDAUTO in Exeter is seeking an HGV Technician to join our established workshop. You will service, maintain, and repair heavy vehicles to manufacturer standards, diagnose faults, and prepare vehicles for MOT.

The role offers a £40,000-£55,000 salary with overtime and a £5,000 relocation package to help you move to Devon. We welcome NVQ Level 3/City & Guilds qualified technicians with strong fault-finding skills and a commitment to quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3/City & Guilds or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance.
• Experience in heavy goods vehicle servicing, maintenance and repair.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Commitment to quality workmanship and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Carry out HGV servicing, preventative maintenance and repairs.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment.
• Complete vehicle inspections, contracted maintenance and MOT preparation.
• Follow manufacturer standards for heavy vehicle repair and servicing.
• Maintain accurate workshop records and a clean, safe working environment.

Are you an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or HGV Fitter looking for your next opportunity in Exeter? Join an established, family-run commercial vehicle workshop offering a permanent position, ongoing development and support with relocating to Devon.

Working hours

• Alternating early and late shifts:
• Early: Monday-Friday, 07:00-15:30.
• Late: Monday-Friday, 15:00-23:00, plus Saturday mornings, 08:30-12:30.

Key Responsibilities

• As an HGV Technician, you’ll work on trucks and buses, using your commercial vehicle maintenance skills to:
• Carry out HGV servicing, preventative maintenance and repairs.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment.
• Complete vehicle inspections, contracted maintenance and MOT preparation.
• Follow manufacturer standards for heavy vehicle repair and servicing.

What we’re looking for

• This role would suit an HGV Mechanic, HGV Fitter, Truck Technician or Commercial Vehicle Technician with:
• An NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance.
• Experience in heavy goods vehicle servicing, maintenance and repair.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• A commitment to quality workmanship and teamwork.
