Job summary

Platinum-Recruitment is seeking an experienced HGV Technician in Exeter to service, maintain and repair heavy vehicles. You will diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, perform inspections and MOT preparation while following manufacturer standards in a supportive workshop environment.

The role offers early and late shifts with overtime opportunities, a relocation package of £5,000, and ongoing training to develop your technical expertise. A pension and paid holidays are included.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance.
• Experience in heavy goods vehicle servicing, maintenance and repair.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• A commitment to quality workmanship and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Carry out HGV servicing, preventative maintenance and repairs.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment.
• Complete vehicle inspections, contracted maintenance and MOT preparation.
• Follow manufacturer standards for heavy vehicle repair and servicing.
• Maintain accurate workshop records and a clean, safe working environment.

HGV Technician – Exeter | £40,000–£55,000 DOE + overtime

Are you an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or HGV Fitter looking for your next opportunity in Exeter? Join an established, family-run commercial vehicle workshop offering a permanent position, ongoing development and support with relocating to Devon.

Working hours

Alternating early and late shifts:

Early: Monday–Friday, 07:00–15:30.

What we’re looking for

• A commitment to quality workmanship and teamwork.
