Job summary

Platinum-Recruitment is seeking an HGV Technician in Plymouth. The role involves servicing, maintenance and repairs of heavy goods vehicles, with opportunities for ongoing training and development.

Relocation support is provided to help you move to Plymouth and join a loyal, supportive workshop team. Candidates should have NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills, and a proven track record in HGV servicing.

• Follow manufacturer standards for heavy vehicle repair and servicing.
• Maintain accurate workshop records and a clean, safe working environment.

Are you an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or HGV Fitter looking for your next opportunity in Plymouth? Join an established, family-run commercial vehicle workshop offering a permanent position, ongoing development and support with relocating to Devon.

Working hours

Alternating early and late shifts:

Early: Monday–Friday, 07:00–15:30.

Key Responsibilities

As an HGV Technician, you’ll work on trucks and buses, using your commercial vehicle maintenance skills to:

Carry out HGV servicing, preventative maintenance and repairs.

Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment.

Complete vehicle inspections, contracted maintenance and MOT preparation.

Follow manufacturer standards for heavy vehicle repair and servicing.

Maintain accurate workshop records and a clean, safe working environment.

What we’re looking for

This role would suit an HGV Mechanic, HGV Fitter, Truck Technician or Commercial Vehicle Technician with:

An NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance.

Experience in heavy goods vehicle servicing, maintenance and repair.

Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

A commitment to quality workmanship and teamwork.
