Straight-Line Group Services Ltd in Essex is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to maintain, service and repair a range of heavy goods vehicles, ensuring safety and roadworthiness. The role is permanent, with a salary of £45,000 plus overtime at time and a half.

You will diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, carry out inspections and preventative maintenance, and keep accurate workshop records while working as part of a supportive team with long-term career development opportunities.

Competenze

• Experience as HGV Technician or similar role.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Knowledge of HGV maintenance, servicing and repairs.
• A recognised vehicle maintenance qualification is desirable.

I'm currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Technician to join a well-established business based in Essex.

The Role

As an HGV Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining, servicing and repairing a range of heavy goods vehicles, ensuring all vehicles remain safe, roadworthy and compliant with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs.
• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults.
• Completing inspections, safety checks and preventative maintenance.
• Identifying faults and carrying out effective repairs.
• Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in line with health and safety regulations.
• Maintaining accurate service records and workshop documentation.

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or Commercial Vehicle Technician.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Knowledge of HGV maintenance, servicing and repairs.
• A recognised qualification in vehicle maintenance or a similar discipline is desirable.
• A proactive attitude, strong work ethic and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
