CD Auto Engineering Recruitment Ltd in West London is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join a busy commercial vehicle operation. The role offers a strong base salary and the opportunity to earn £60k+ OTE with regular overtime.

You will service, inspect and repair HGVs, maintain records and ensure DVSA compliance in a structured 40-hour week. Early/late shifts alternate, with overtime paid at 1.5x and generous holiday entitlement.

Qualifications

• Experience as HGV/HV technician or mechanic.
• NVQ3/City & Guilds in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills.
• Knowledge of HGV inspection and maintenance standards.
• UK driving licence held.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs.
• Complete scheduled inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults.
• Identify and repair worn or defective components.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT and statutory inspections.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and workshop documentation.
• Ensure vehicles meet DVSA and company standards.
• Support vehicle availability and minimise downtime.
• Maintain high standards of health and safety and workmanship.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Looking for a well-paid HGV Technician role in West London with a strong basic salary, regular overtime and a realistic opportunity to earn £60,000+?

We are recruiting experienced HGV Technicians to join a busy and established commercial vehicle operation offering long-term stability, a structured 40-hour working week and excellent additional earning potential.

You will join an experienced engineering team responsible for keeping a commercial vehicle fleet safe, reliable and on the road, carrying out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs to a high standard.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs
• Completing scheduled inspections and preventative maintenance
• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
• Identifying and repairing worn or defective components
• Preparing vehicles for MOT and statutory inspections
• Completing maintenance records and workshop documentation accurately
• Ensuring vehicles meet required DVSA and company standards
• Supporting vehicle availability and minimising downtime
• Maintaining high standards of Health & Safety and workmanship

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Previous experience as an HGV Technician, Heavy Vehicle Technician or HGV Mechanic
• NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
• Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills
• Good knowledge of HGV inspection and maintenance standards
• Experience working within a commercial vehicle or fleet workshopA full UK driving licence

A Class 1 or Class 2 HGV licence would be advantageous but is not essential.
