Job summary

Demob Job Ltd is recruiting an experienced HGV Technician for the busy workshop in the Braintree area of Essex. The role involves servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on a range of heavy goods vehicles and trailers, with a focus on quality workmanship and customer service.

The successful candidate will have an NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent, hands-on experience with HGVs, and strong diagnostic skills.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience servicing, maintaining and repairing heavy goods vehicles.
• Strong mechanical knowledge of HGV diesel engines, braking, suspension and steering.
• Experience fault finding and diagnostics with modern diagnostic equipment.
• Experience in inspections, servicing, brake repairs and MOT preparation.
• Identifying mechanical and electrical faults and repairs independently.
• Full, clean UK driving licence; HGV licence advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on heavy goods vehicles and trailers.
• Work in a busy workshop and ensure quality workmanship and safety.
• Identify faults and carry out repairs to mechanical and electrical systems.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT where required.

Our client is a well-established business providing commercial vehicle servicing, maintenance and repairs. Due to continued growth and expansion, they are now recruiting for an experienced HGV Technician to join their busy workshop in the Braintree area of Essex.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on a range of heavy goods vehicles and trailers. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HGV Technician with strong mechanical knowledge and diagnostic skills to join a friendly, established team where quality workmanship, honesty and customer service are highly valued.

HGV Technician Requirements

• Hold an NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, Vehicle Mechanics or an equivalent recognised qualification.
• Proven hands-on experience servicing, maintaining and repairing heavy goods vehicles.
• Strong mechanical knowledge of HGV diesel engines, braking systems, suspension, steering and associated components.
• Proven experience carrying out HGV fault finding and diagnostics, including the use of modern diagnostic equipment.
• Experience carrying out HGV inspections, servicing, brake repairs and MOT preparation.
• Confident identifying mechanical and electrical faults and completing repairs independently.
• Previous experience working in a busy workshop environment.
• Strong awareness of health and safety procedures.
• Honest, reliable and trustworthy, with a strong work ethic and pride in the quality of your work.
• Hold a full, clean UK driving licence. An HGV licence would be advantageous but is not essential.

HGV Technician Benefits

• Salary: £50,000 per annum.
• Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm (30-minute lunch break).
