Job summary

Consult2Recruit is seeking an experienced HGV & Trailer Mechanic for a busy Eastleigh workshop. You will maintain, inspect, and repair a range of commercial vehicles and trailers, with responsibilities spanning brake testing, MOT preparation, welding, and fault diagnosis.

The ideal candidate holds an HGV Class 1 licence with CPC, has proven hands-on skills, and can work 40 hours weekly with occasional overtime. Competitive hourly rates apply; permanent, full-time position.

• Working on curtain-sided and skeletal trailers and light CVs.

Location: Eastleigh, Hampshire

Salary: £18.50 - £19.40 per hour

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 4:00pm (40 hours per week)

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Overtime: Available at time and a half

Experienced HGV & Trailer Mechanic Required - Eastleigh

We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV & Trailer Mechanic to join a busy commercial vehicle workshop based in Eastleigh.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled HGV Technician, Mechanic or Fitter looking for a permanent position offering competitive hourly rates, regular weekday hours and overtime opportunities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, inspecting and repairing a range of commercial vehicles and trailers, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in line with safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out safety inspections and routine maintenance on HGVs and trailers.
• Preparing vehicles for MOT testing.
• Conducting brake testing and associated repairs.
• Completing welding and fabrication work.
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out mechanical repairs.
• Servicing and repairing rigid and articulated vehicles.
• Working on curtain-sided and skeletal trailers.
• Occasionally servicing and repairing light commercial vehicles (LCVs).
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship, health and safety.

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience as an HGV Technician, Mechanic or Fitter.
• HGV Class 1 driving licence.
• Valid Driver CPC.
• Full, clean driving licence.
• Experience working on rigid and articulated vehicles.
• Experience with curtain-sided and skeletal trailers.
• Ability to work flexibly when required.

An HGV Level 3 qualification or equivalent would be advantageous.
