Job summary

Kamro Limited T/A Tenex in Wickford, Essex, is seeking an experienced HGV Mechanic, Fitter or Heavy Vehicle Technician for a permanent, full-time role. You will service, maintain and repair HGVs and commercial vehicles to keep them safe and roadworthy, working Monday to Friday from 7:00am to 4:00pm.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on diagnostic and repair skills, MOT preparation, and a Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance qualification.

Qualifications

• Experience as an HGV Mechanic, HGV Fitter or Heavy Vehicle Technician.
• Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills.
• Experience with MOT preparation and routine servicing.

HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter Wickford, Essex

Are you an experienced HGV Mechanic, HGV Fitter or Heavy Vehicle Technician looking for a permanent Monday-to-Friday position?

We are recruiting for an experienced HGV Mechanic / Fitter to join an established and busy operation in Wickford, Essex.

This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, inspection and repair of HGVs and commercial vehicles, ensuring vehicles are safe, reliable and roadworthy.

If you have strong mechanical knowledge, enjoy practical hands-on work and can confidently diagnose and repair HGVs, this could be an excellent opportunity.

The Role

As an HGV Mechanic / Fitter, your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs on HGVs and commercial vehicles
• Diagnosing mechanical faults and carrying out effective repairs
• Completing routine inspections and preventative maintenance
• Preparing vehicles for MOT testing
• Identifying and rectifying vehicle defects
• Replacing components and carrying out mechanical repairs as required
• Maintaining accurate records of servicing and repair work
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard
• Maintaining workshop tools and equipment
• Following all company health and safety procedures

About You

We are looking for someone with previous experience in an HGV or commercial vehicle maintenance environment.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience as an HGV Mechanic, HGV Fitter, HGV Technician, Heavy Vehicle Technician or similar
• Strong mechanical and practical fitting skills
• Experience working on HGVs or commercial vehicles
• Experience with MOT preparation
• Ideally, a Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or a related discipline
• The ability to diagnose faults and complete repairs independently
• A reliable and professional approach to work
• Good attention to detail and a strong focus on safety
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team
• HGV driving licence desirable but not essential
