Job summary

Consult2Recruit is seeking an experienced HGV & Trailer Mechanic for a busy Eastleigh workshop. Earn £18.50–£19.40 per hour, with a 40-hour week, Monday–Friday, 7:00am–4:00pm and overtime options.

Join a full-time permanent role maintaining and repairing a range of commercial vehicles and trailers to high safety standards. The role involves inspections, brake testing, welding, fault diagnosis and servicing both rigid and articulated vehicles, with opportunities on curtain-sided and skeletal

Qualifications

• Experience as HGV Technician, Mechanic or Fitter
• HGV Class 1 licence
• Valid Driver CPC
• Full, clean driving licence
• Experience with curtain-sided and skeletal trailers
• Willing to work flexibly when required
• An HGV Level 3 qualification or equivalent would be advantageous

Responsibilities

• Carrying out safety inspections and routine maintenance on HGVs and trailers.
• Preparing vehicles for MOT testing.
• Conducting brake testing and associated repairs.
• Completing welding and fabrication work.
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out mechanical repairs.
• Servicing and repairing rigid and articulated vehicles.
• Working on curtain-sided and skeletal trailers.
• Occasionally servicing and repairing light commercial vehicles (LCVs).
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship, health and safety.

Location: Eastleigh, Hampshire
Salary: £18.50 – £19.40 per hour

We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV & Trailer Mechanic to join a busy commercial vehicle workshop based in Eastleigh.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled HGV Technician, Mechanic or Fitter looking for a permanent position offering competitive hourly rates, regular weekday hours and overtime opportunities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, inspecting and repairing a range of commercial vehicles and trailers, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in line with safety requirements.

An HGV Level 3 qualification or equivalent would be advantageous.
