Job summary

Wallace Hind Selection Limited is seeking a dedicated HGV Technician to service and repair trucks and vehicles in Peterborough. The role offers a path to obtain an HGV licence and IRTEC/ATA qualification, with overtime and a supportive team environment.

You will service and diagnose faults, prepare vehicles for MOT, and work closely with the parts department. A UK driving licence is required, and an HGV licence is a plus. Training is provided after six months.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• Recent experience in motor trade in a similar role.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Full UK driving licence is required.
• HGV licence would be fantastic but not essential; support to gain after six months.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintaining and repairing HGVs, light vehicles and trailers.
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs.
• Preparing vehicles for MOT.
• Attending roadside breakdowns when required.
• Working with parts department.
• Completing job cards and workshop paperwork accurately.
• Keeping technical knowledge up to date through training.

• Recent experience working within the motor trade in a similar role
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• A full UK driving licence
• An HGV licence would be fantastic, but it's not essential. If you're the right person and don't currently hold one, we'll support you in gaining your licence after six months.
