Job summary

James Lewis Recruitment is assisting a long-established Billingham workshop to recruit an HGV Technician / Mechanic / Fitter. The role involves servicing trucks and trailers, diagnosing faults, and performing mechanical and electrical repairs to required standards.

You will work Monday to Friday in a stable workshop, with training and development opportunities and a permanent contract. A time-served qualification (City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3) and a valid driving licence are preferred, with

Qualifications

• Time-served HGV Technician or equivalent (City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 preferred).
• Proven experience repairing and maintaining trucks and components.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Own tools preferred.
• Valid driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned maintenance and servicing on trucks and trailers.
• Fast and accurate diagnostics and fault finding using diagnostic tools.
• Mechanical and electrical repairs, working independently.
• Vehicle inspections and compliance checks (MOT, tachograph, etc.).
• Final checks on completed work.

Job Title: HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 OTE

Shift: Monday to Friday, rotating 7:00am - 4:30pm and 11:00am - 8:30pm

Type: Permanent

Location: Billingham
