Job summary

James Lewis Recruitment is helping a long-established commercial vehicle dealership in Carlisle to hire a HGV Technician for the night shift. You will join the Carlisle workshop to carry out maintenance and servicing on trucks and trailers, diagnose faults quickly, and work with both mechanical and electrical systems.

This is a permanent role with a four-night week and a salary of £50,000–£60,000 OTE. You’ll benefit from training and development opportunities and a high degree of responsibility

Qualifications

• Time-served HGV technician or equivalent (City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 preferred).
• Proven experience repairing and maintaining trucks and components.
• Valid driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned maintenance and servicing on trucks and trailers.
• Fast and accurate diagnostics and fault finding using diagnostic tools.
• Mechanical and electrical repairs, working independently.
• Vehicle inspections and compliance checks (MOT, tacho, etc.).
• Final checks on completed work.

Shift: Nights - Tuesday to Friday, 7:00pm - 7:00am (46 hours per week)
