Job summary

James Lewis Recruitment's Carlisle client is hiring a HGV Technician / Mechanic for a dayshift role in a long-established commercial vehicle dealership group.

You will perform planned maintenance and servicing, carry out accurate diagnostics, repairs, inspections (MOT, tachograph) and ensure final checks on completed work. The position offers a permanent contract with a salary of £50,000 - £55,000 OTE.

Typical hours are 7:00am-4:30pm, with every other Saturday paid at time and a half.

Qualifications

• Time-served HGV Technician or equivalent (City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 preferred).
• Proven experience repairing and maintaining trucks and components.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned maintenance and servicing on trucks and trailers.
• Fast and accurate diagnostics and fault finding using diagnostic tools.
• Mechanical and electrical repairs, working independently.
• Vehicle inspections and compliance checks (MOT, tacho, etc.).

• Proven experience repairing and maintaining trucks and components

• Own tools preferred


• Valid driving licence
