Job summary

Adler and Allan is recruiting for a HGV Tanker Apprentice / Drainage Operative. The role is permanent, full-time and onsite with occasional nights away. You will learn from the Senior HGV Tanker Driver and perform tank testing, dewatering, and related duties while supporting customers across the UK.

Key tasks include responding to call-outs, acting as a site supervisor when needed, and ensuring paperwork and equipment are maintained to a high standard. Onsite training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Must possess a full clean UK driving licence (categories to operate Company vehicles up to 3.5 tonne)
• Right to Work in UK is essential
• RAMS documentation knowledge is advantageous
• Willingness to undertake additional training to support the division

Responsibilities

• Operate independently or as part of a team to perform and deliver services to customers, including tank and line testing, VR testing and tank dewatering; onsite training provided
• Respond to call outs for critical issues
• Act as site supervisor/lead operative when required, including attending site briefings as a company representative
• Carry out near-miss and potential incident reporting with in-house training provided
• Liaise with customers on site regarding ongoing works and further services
• Maintain a clean vehicle and ensure equipment, PPE and other items are in good order
• Complete all works and submit paperwork to divisional supervision promptly
• Liaise with supervision to discuss works and suggest improvements
• Undertake any other duties within capability
