Job summary

Adler and Allan Group is seeking a HGV Tanker Apprentice / Drainage Operative to join our team and help keep essential services flowing across sites in the UK. You will learn from the Senior HGV Tanker Driver, performing tank and line testing, dewatering and related tasks while developing on-the-job skills.

Onsite work, with up to 4 nights away, offers hands-on training and exposure to real-world operations.

Qualifications

• Must possess a full clean UK driving licence, categories to operate Company vehicles up to 3.5tonne.
• Working on and around Petrol Forecourts.
• Right to Work in UK is essential.
• Previous knowledge and experience of completing RAMS documentation. (advantageous)
• Willingness to undertake any additional training to increase capability of the division in supplying a service to customers.

Responsibilities

• Operate independently, or as part of a team to perform and deliver service to all customers of the Company, including tank and line testing, VR testing and tank dewatering.
• Respond to call outs for critical issues.
• Satisfy duties of a site supervisor/lead operative when required, including attending site briefings as a company representative and occasionally acting as team leader.
• Carry out near miss & potential incident reporting; in-house training will be provided.
• Liaise with customers on site to discuss ongoing works and further services of the Company.
• Maintain a clean vehicle and ensure all equipment, PPE and other work items are in good order and available for use; inform supervision of any damage.
• Complete all works in a timely manner, including paperwork and submission to divisional supervision.
• Liaise with supervision regarding all works and opportunities for improvements.
• Undertake any other duties for which you are qualified.
