Interaction Technical is recruiting an experienced HGV Technician to join a busy workshop in Scunthorpe. The role involves servicing and repairing a mixed fleet of HGVs, diagnosing complex faults and performing preventative maintenance to DVSA standards.

Formación

• Previous experience as an HGV Technician or similar role is essential.
• Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent is essential.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills across commercial vehicles.

Responsabilidades

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on a mixed fleet of HGVs and commercial vehicles.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
• Inspect vehicles, report defects and perform preventative maintenance.
• Strip and rebuild major components including engines and gearboxes.
• Test and fault-find to ensure DVSA and company standards are met.
• Complete repairs per manufacturer specifications.
• Attend breakdowns and provide roadside assistance as required.
• Carry out mobile maintenance at customer sites when needed.
• Accurately complete job cards and service sheets.

HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic

Salary: £47,000 per annum | OTE: £55,000–£60,000+

Location: Hatfield, South Yorkshire

Hours: Rotating Shift Pattern – Week 1: Monday to Friday, 6:00am–2:30pm; Weeks 2 & 3: Monday to Friday, 10:00am–8:00pm; 1 in 3 Saturdays: 6:00am–2:00pm, paid at 1.5x rate

The Company Interaction Technical are working in partnership with a well-established commercial vehicle maintenance and fleet services provider to recruit an experienced HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic to join their expanding workshop team in Scunthorpe. Our client supports a large and diverse fleet of commercial vehicles and has built an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality maintenance, repair and breakdown services across the region. The Role

• Carrying out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs on a mixed fleet of HGVs and commercial vehicles
• Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults
• Conducting vehicle inspections, defect reporting and preventative maintenance
• Stripping, inspecting and rebuilding major components, including engines, gearboxes, axles, suspension and braking systems
• Carrying out testing and fault-finding to ensure vehicles meet DVSA and company compliance standards
• Completing repairs and maintenance in line with manufacturer specifications
• Attending vehicle breakdowns and providing roadside assistance as part of a rota
• Carrying out mobile maintenance and repairs at customer sites when required
• Accurately completing job cards, service sheets and other maintenance documentation

Requirements

• Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, Commercial Vehicle Technician or PSV Technician — essential
• Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent — essential
• Strong diagnostic and fault‑finding skills across commercial vehicles
• Experience carrying out servicing, inspections, maintenance and repairs on HGV fleets
• The ability to strip and rebuild major vehicle components
• Good knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and mechanical systems
• A full UK driving licence — essential
• An HGV licence — desirable but not essential
• The ability to work independently and as part of a professional workshop team
• A flexible, proactive approach to breakdowns, call‑outs and mobile repair work
