Interaction Technical is recruiting an experienced HGV Technician for their North West workshop in Warrington. The role focuses on maintaining and repairing a Scania fleet, ensuring safety and compliance. Strong diagnostic skills and a full UK driving licence are essential for this busy workshop.

Qualifications

• Experience as an HGV Technician or similar role is essential.
• Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair qualification or equivalent is essential.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance on HGVs.
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical and pneumatic faults.
• Carrying out repairs to meet manufacturer standards and safety requirements.
• Stripping and rebuilding major components (engines, gearboxes, brakes).
• Testing and fault-finding with detailed vehicle diagnostics.
• Preparing vehicles for MOT and DVSA checks and completing records in the workshop system.

The Role

As an HGV Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a predominantly Scania fleet, ensuring vehicles remain safe, reliable and compliant with all relevant legislation.

Your duties will include:

• Carrying out planned servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance on HGVs
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical and pneumatic faults
• Completing repairs and maintenance in accordance with manufacturer standards
• Stripping, inspecting and rebuilding major components, including engines, gearboxes, differentials and braking systems
• Carrying out detailed vehicle testing and diagnostic fault-finding
• Completing safety inspections and preparing vehicles for MOT and DVSA requirements
• Accurately recording all maintenance and repair activities using workshop management systems
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship, productivity and efficiency
• Working closely with other technicians and workshop management to minimise vehicle downtime
• Following all company health & safety procedures and best engineering practices

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or Commercial Vehicle Technician – essential
• Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair qualification or equivalent – essential
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Proven experience servicing, maintaining and repairing heavy commercial vehicles
• Experience stripping, inspecting and rebuilding vehicle components
• Good knowledge of electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
• A full UK driving licence – essential
• A positive attitude and willingness to continue learning and developing
• The ability to work independently as well as effectively within a busy workshop team
