Job summary

Interaction Technical is recruiting for an HGV Technician in Warrington. You will join a busy workshop, performing servicing, diagnostics and repairs on a Scania fleet to keep vehicles safe and compliant.

The role offers a stable, modern workshop environment with extensive training, development, and progression opportunities. A company van, fuel card and a supportive team are provided.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an HGV Technician or equivalent.
• Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair qualification or equivalent.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Experience servicing and repairing heavy commercial vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned servicing and inspections on HGVs.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and pneumatic faults.
• Repair and maintain to manufacturer and industry standards.
• Inspect and rebuild major components (engines, gearboxes, etc.).
• Record maintenance activities in workshop systems.
• Maintain high workmanship and efficiency in a busy workshop.

Location: Warrington
Salary: £42,0000-£50,000 + Overtime Available
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Shifts: 07:00-16:00

Interaction Technical are working in partnership with a leading commercial vehicle maintenance provider to recruit an experienced HGV Technician to join their established workshop team in their North West Workshop.

The Role

As an HGV Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a predominantly Scania fleet, ensuring vehicles remain safe, reliable and compliant with all relevant legislation.

Your duties will include:

• Carrying out planned servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance on HGVs
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical and pneumatic faults
• Completing repairs and maintenance in accordance with manufacturer standards
• Stripping, inspecting and rebuilding major components, including engines, gearboxes, differentials and braking systems
• Carrying out detailed vehicle testing and diagnostic fault-finding
• Completing safety inspections and preparing vehicles for MOT and DVSA requirements
• Accurately recording all maintenance and repair activities using workshop management systems
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship, productivity and efficiency
• Working closely with other technicians and workshop management to minimise vehicle downtime
• Following all company health & safety procedures and best engineering practices

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or Commercial Vehicle Technician - essential
• Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair qualification or equivalent - essential
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Proven experience servicing, maintaining and repairing heavy commercial vehicles
• Experience stripping, inspecting and rebuilding vehicle components
• Good knowledge of electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
• A full UK driving licence - essential
• A positive attitude and willingness to continue learning and developing
• The ability to work independently as well as effectively within a busy workshop team
