Interaction Technical is seeking an experienced HGV Technician (Days) to join our Grimsby workshop. You will service, diagnose and repair Scania heavy vehicles, ensuring safety and compliance with DVSA standards. The role offers ongoing training and clear opportunities for career progression within a professional workshop environment.

You will work a continental shift pattern with overtime paid at enhanced rates. A strong focus on quality workmanship and team collaboration is essential.

Qualifikationen

• Experience as an HGV Technician or equivalent.
• Qualification to maintain and repair heavy vehicles at a professional level.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities required.

Aufgaben

• Carry out planned servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance on Scania HGVs.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and pneumatic faults.
• Complete routine maintenance and repairs to manufacturer standards.
• Strip, inspect and rebuild engines, gearboxes, differentials and braking systems.
• Conduct vehicle testing and fault-finding for fleet reliability and DVSA readiness.
• Record maintenance activities accurately using workshop systems.
• Support workshop efficiency with high-quality workmanship and productivity.
• Collaborate with technicians and management to minimise downtime.

Continental Shift Pattern 06:00am - 6:00pm 1.5-hour unpaid break 2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 3 off rota

Overtime Earnings Potential

Based on a £43,000 salary:

• 5 hours per week overtime: Approx. £45,500 per annum
• 10 hours per week overtime: Approx. £48,000 per annum
• 15 hours per week overtime: Approx. £50,500+ per annum

Role

• Carry out planned servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance on a fleet of predominantly Scania HGVs.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and pneumatic faults.
• Complete routine maintenance and repairs in line with manufacturer standards.
• Strip, inspect and rebuild major vehicle components including engines, gearboxes, differentials and braking systems.
• Conduct vehicle testing and fault-finding to ensure maximum fleet reliability and compliance.
• Complete safety inspections and prepare vehicles for MOT and DVSA requirements.
• Record maintenance activities accurately through workshop management systems.
• Support workshop efficiency by maintaining high-quality workmanship and productivity standards.
• Work collaboratively with fellow technicians and workshop management to minimise vehicle downtime.
• Adhere to all company health & safety procedures and best engineering practices.

Requirements

• Previous experience working as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or Commercial Vehicle Technician (essential).
• Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair qualification or equivalent (essential).
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities.
• Experience servicing, maintaining and repairing heavy commercial vehicles.
• Proven ability to strip, inspect and rebuild vehicle components.
• Experience working on Scania vehicles would be advantageous.
• Good understanding of electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a busy workshop team.
