Job summary

Veolia Group in Padworth is seeking an HGV Driver to join our depot team. You will collect and deliver vehicles to and from the Workshop, assist with parts and general workshop duties, and help maintain a safe, efficient operation.

We offer £41,441 per year (45-hour week), 25 days leave plus holidays, a pension, ongoing training, and health benefits. Applicants must have a UK Class C1 licence, DCPC card, and be prepared for overtime as required.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid UK Class C1 driving licence.
• Hold a valid driver card (DCPC) and Tachograph card.
• Able to operate safely and maintain vehicle condition.

Responsibilities

• Collect and deliver vehicles to/from the Workshop.
• Assist with workshop parts, consumables and cleaning.
• Perform brake tests, road tests and support MOT/external repairs.
• Operate vehicles in line with training and legal requirements.

Proactively reporting any safety concerns, accidents or incidents promptly is vital to maintain a good working environment.Drive and operate any vehicle required for maintenance, conducting Brake tests, assisting with road tests and taking vehicles for MOT/external repairs. You are to hold a valid driving licence for the category of vehicle you are driving and have a valid driver card (DCPC) - regular training is provided by the company, you also require a Tachograph card.You will be provided with a Work phone which you are to use for Work only, reporting back to the Workshop Supervisor or Manager with regards to any issues that you may incur whilst out on task.You are the face of Veolia to the public and so must ensure that you are correctly dressed in Veolia uniform/PPE and maintain a polite and professional relationship with members of the public, client staff and your colleagues.You could be required to work overtime and occasional weekends as required to complete your work.
