Job summary

The Recruitment Crowd are recruiting on behalf of our well-known client based in Plymouth, PL6. We are seeking multiple HGV Class 2 Drivers to join the team on an ongoing basis, with the opportunity to become permanent.

You will work night or day shifts with pay rates of £16.16 per hour PAYE (nights) and £15.10 per hour PAYE (days), with a pattern that includes nights from 01:00am and days from 12:30pm, plus a guarantee of hours on day shifts.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence with HGV Class 2 (CAT C) entitlement.
• Valid and in-date CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• No more than 6 points on your licence (minor offences only).
• Good understanding of Working Time Directive (WTD) legislation.
• Willingness to complete a driving assessment.
• Good communication skills.
• Strong safety-first attitude.

Responsibilities

• Complete deliveries, typically involving 12 stops.
• Loading and unloading with tail lift and pump truck.
• Complete paperwork accurately.
• Drive safely and follow company procedures.
• Provide professional customer service.
• Refuel and end-of-shift vehicle checks.

Job description

The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of our well-known and industry-leading client based in Plymouth, PL6. We are looking for multiple HGV Class 2 Drivers to join the team on an ongoing basis, with the opportunity to become permanent.

Pay Rates:

• Nights: £16.16 per hour PAYE
• Days: £15.10 per hour PAYE

Shift Pattern:

• Monday to Sunday
• Night shifts: 01:00am start
• Day shifts: 12:30pm start, Monday to Friday
• Day shifts offer 56 hours guaranteed per shift (27.5 hours per week)

The Role

As an HGV Class 2 Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting palletised parcels between sub-depots and delivery units.

Duties will include:

• Completing deliveries, typically involving 12 stops.
• Loading and unloading using a tail lift and pump truck.
• Ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately.
• Driving safely and following all company procedures.
• Providing professional and courteous customer service.
• Emptying and refuelling the vehicle at the end of each shift.

All successful candidates will be required to complete a theory and practical driving assessment. Once passed, you will complete several days of paid training before starting regular work.
