Job summary

TRC Yorkshire is recruiting for an HGV Class 2 Driver based in Plymouth. You will transport palletised parcels between depots and units, with night or day shifts. Training is provided after assessment, and paid training days precede regular work.

Role demands safe driving, accurate paperwork, and excellent customer service. Full UK licence (CAT C), CPC, and a good safety record are essential.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence with HGV Class 2 (CAT C) entitlement.
• Valid and in-date DCPC (CPC) and Digital Tachograph Card.
• No more than 6 points on licence.
• Good understanding of Working Time Directive (WTD) legislation.
• Willingness to complete a driving assessment.
• Good communication skills.
• A strong safety-first attitude.

Responsibilities

• Complete deliveries, typically 1–2 stops per shift.
• Load and unload using tail lift and pump truck.
• Ensure all paperwork is completed accurately.

Job description

The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of our well-known and industry-leading client based in Plymouth, PL6.

Pay Rates

• Nights: £16.16 per hour PAYE
• Days: £15.10 per hour PAYE

Shift Pattern

• Monday to Sunday
• Night shifts: 01:00am start
• Day shifts: 12:30pm start, Monday to Friday
• Day shifts offer 5-6 hours guaranteed per shift (27.5 hours per week)

The Role

As an HGV Class 2 Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting palletised parcels between sub-depots and delivery units.

Duties will include:

• Completing deliveries, typically involving 1-2 stops.
• Loading and unloading using a tail lift and pump truck.
• Ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately.
• Driving safely and following all company procedures.
• Providing professional and courteous customer service.
• Emptying and refuelling the vehicle at the end of each shift.

All successful candidates will be required to complete a theory and practical driving assessment. Once passed, you will complete several days of paid training before starting regular work.
