Job summary

Gaskells Waste Management is seeking full-time HGV Drivers to join a trusted team delivering high standards of service. You will operate across multiple routes, using a company-provided tablet to log hours and ensure safety at all times.

We offer training opportunities, a generous holiday allowance and ongoing development including CPC support. Applicants should be physically fit and committed to delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence required.
• Driver CPC card essential.
• Knowledge of Tachograph legislation and DVSA rules.
• Flexibility to work varied routes and weekends/Bank Holidays.
• Local area knowledge is beneficial.
• Waste industry experience is advantageous.
• Physically fit and robust.

Responsibilities

• Provide a professional service with a friendly attitude.
• Complete rounds efficiently and on time.
• Drive safely and economically.
• Comply with health and safety policies and guidance.
• Accurately record hours using a company tablet.
• Keep customer premises tidy after visits.

Job Description

Established since 1991, Gaskells Waste Management is a fast-growing waste and recycling company operating across Merseyside, Cheshire, Lancashire, Shropshire, North and Mid Wales.

We are looking to employ full-time Drivers to become part of our respected driving force, to enhance and grow the business.

The Role

To provide a professional service to all our customers, with a friendly and helpful attitude to deliver an exceptional customer service experience.

What We Ask From You

• To carry out your duties in a professional and productive way
• To ensure all rounds are completed efficiently and on time
• To drive in a safe and economic manner
• To comply with the company's health and safety policy, work instructions and guidance documents
• To accurately record your working day using a company tablet
• To ensure customers premises/properties are left in a tidy condition
• To effectively communicate with the Traffic Controllers at Head Office
• To report any near misses or accidents in a timely manner following the correct procedures
• To wear company supplied uniform and issued PPE
• To be flexible, reliable and a team player
• To be able work on your own initiative
• Ability to drive, or undertake training, on all vehicles i.e. Trade Waste, FEL, Skips, RORO, Wagon and Drag, Artic

Experience Required for the Role

• Full UK Driving Licence
• Driver CPC card essential
• Knowledge of Tachograph legislation, DVSA Rules and Regulations
• Flexibility to work on varied routes as and when required to meet the needs of the business
• Available to work weekends and Bank Holidays on a rota basis
• Local area knowledge beneficial
• Waste Industry experience advantageous
• Physically fit and robust
• 4am start

This Is a Full-Time Permanent Role Offering

• £16.71 per hour
• Day in lieu for working a Bank Holiday
• Ongoing development and training including contribution for CPC
• 28 days holiday including Bank Holidays, increasing to 33 days including Banks Holidays after 5 years service
