Smart Solutions (Recruitment) Limited in Widnes is seeking a reliable HGV Class 2 Driver to join our busy depot. You will collect and transport commercial waste, operate a modern vehicle fleet and work Monday to Friday with start times between 03:00 and 04:00.

Earn £14.47 per hour with overtime at £18.09 per hour after 40 hours, plus bonuses and daily performance incentives. The role includes PPE and a commitment to safety, training, and career progression within a well-maintained fleet.

Job description

We are looking for a reliable and experienced HGV Class 2 Driver to join our busy Widnes depot.

You will be responsible for safely and efficiently collecting and transporting commercial and industrial waste using a modern HGV fleet.

This is a stable, full-time position offering consistent Monday to Friday shifts, a paid break and the opportunity to increase your earnings through overtime.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate HGV Class 2 vehicles for commercial and industrial waste collections
• Collect and transport waste safely and efficiently
• Plan and follow efficient routes to maximise productivity
• Ensure collection areas are left clean and tidy
• Ensure bins and containers are correctly positioned
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects promptly
• Comply with waste duty of care requirements
• Follow drivers’ hours, tachograph and road safety regulations
• Maintain high standards of health and safety at all times
• Represent the company professionally when dealing with customers
• Carry out manual handling tasks when required

Pay and Benefits:

• £14.47 per hour
• £18.09 per hour overtime rate after 40 hours
• Monday to Friday working
• Start times between 03:00 and 04:00
• 8p performance bonus per bin collected each day after full training
• Daily timing bonus based on performance targets: £10, £14 or £18 per day

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a safety-focused Class 2 Driver who takes pride in vehicle presentation, customer service and completing collections to a high standard.

You should be comfortable working independently while also being part of a wider transport team, with a strong commitment to safety, efficiency and environmental standards.
