Job summary

Enva is recruiting a HGV Trade Driver in Glenrothes. You will work a dayshift from 6:00 am to 4:00 pm, five days a week (45 hours) with overtime eligibility.

Responsibilities include collecting, transporting and delivering waste and related materials, while upholding high safety, customer service and compliance standards. Key duties include safe operation of HGV Class 2 vehicles, completing deliveries, securing loads, route planning, routine vehicle checks, and maintaining regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Requires Class 2 LGV driving licence and CPC qualification.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate HGV Class 2 vehicles in line with DVSA regulations and company procedures.
• Carry out deliveries and collections using Chain Skip, RoRo, and 18-tonne Curtain-Sider vehicles.
• Load and unload materials safely and securely, ensuring cargo is secured.
• Plan efficient routes and adhere to delivery schedules.
• Conduct daily vehicle checks and report defects or incidents promptly.
• Maintain roadworthiness and comply with legal requirements and hours regulations.
• Provide professional service to customers and the public; represent the company positively on-site.

Description

We are recruiting a HGV Trade Driver to join our team in Glenrothes.

You will be working a dayshift from 6:00 am to 16:00 pm, 5 days a week, 45h with eligibility for overtime.

In this role you will collect, transport and deliver waste, recycling materials, skips and general goods while maintaining high standards of safety, customer service and legal compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate HGV Class 2 vehicles in accordance with DVSA regulations and company procedures
• Carry out deliveries and collections using:
  • Chain Skip vehicles
  • Roll-on Roll-off (RoRo) vehicles
  • 18-tonne Curtain-Sider vehicle
• Load, transport and unload materials safely and securely
• Ensure all cargo, skips and containers are secured correctly before transit
• Plan and follow efficient routes while adhering to delivery schedules
• Complete daily vehicle walkaround checks and defect reports
• Ensure vehicles remain roadworthy and compliant with all legal requirements
• Report defects, accidents, incidents and near misses promptly
• Maintain compliance with Driver Hours Regulations, Working Time Directive and Tachograph legislation
• Keep vehicles clean and presentable at all times
• Provide a professional and courteous service to customers and members of the public
• Represent the company positively whilst on customer sites and public roads
• Obtain necessary signatures, waste transfer documentation and delivery paperwork
• Comply with all company health and safety procedures
• Wear appropriate PPE at all times
• Undertake dynamic risk assessments when attending customer sites
• Ensure safe loading and unloading practices are followed
• Identify and report hazards or unsafe conditions.
