Job summary

Smart Solutions are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 2 Driver to join our successful client, who specialises in Waste Management and transforming waste into valuable resources and lessening its impact on the environment. The right candidate will drive the refuse lorry, assist loaders with bin collection, and ensure all routes and missed bins are completed.

A minimum 6 months' experience and a valid UK HGV Class 2 licence are essential.

Qualifications

• UK HGV Class 2 driving licence (minimum 12 months).
• Digital tachograph card & CPC card required.
• Good team working and communication skills.
• Ability to adapt quickly to a fast-paced environment.
• Previous experience in waste & recycling is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate a Class 2 dustcart or refuse lorry.
• Collect refuse from different local areas each day.
• Ensure completion of all additional work and missed bins.
• Assist with moving domestic wheelie bins manually.
• Maintain awareness of other vehicles and drive safely.

Job description

Smart Solutions are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 2 Driver to join our successful client, who specialises in Waste Management and transforming waste into valuable resources and lessening its impact on the environment.

Bonus: £250 after full 4 weeks of driving and £250 after full 8 weeks of driving

Shift pattern: Monday to Friday | 6.00 am till 3 pm

Industry: Waste & Recycling

Duties & Responsibilities

The right person will be responsible for driving the refuse lorry and assisting loaders with collecting/emptying bins from residential premises, returning them where necessary, and ensuring all additional work and missed bins are completed.

A minimum 6 months experience in HGV Class 2 driving is essential.

• Drive and operate a Class 2 dustcart, refuse lorry, or bin lorry
• Collect refuse from a different local area each day of the week
• Ensure completion of all additional work and missed bins
• Assist with manually moving domestic wheelie bins
• Maintain awareness of other vehicles or people on the road and operate the lorry safely

Requirements

• UK HGV Class 2 driving licence (minimum 12 months)
• Digital tachograph card & CPC card
• Good team working skills and good communication skills
• Ability to adapt quickly to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
• Previous experience within a waste & recycling industrial environment would be an advantage
