Job summary

Smart Solutions are recruiting an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver to join a busy waste management team based in Melton Mowbray.

You will drive a range of vehicles, undertake refuse collections and related duties, including loading, with daytime hours Mon-Fri, 7:00am-3:30pm. Weekly pay and ongoing work are provided. The role supports the local waste services, and the company proudly acknowledges the Armed Forces Covenant, welcoming servicemen and veterans to apply.

• Valid Driver CPC qualification card.
• Valid Digital Tachograph card.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Refuse Collection Vehicle (RCV).
• Drive a 7.5T vehicle for bulky waste collections.
• Carry out fly-tip clearances.
• Deliver wheeled bins and waste containers to customers.
• Assist with loading duties when required.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects.
• Follow health and safety procedures and road regulations.
• Provide a professional service representing the company.

Location: Melton Mowbray, LE13
Pay Rate: £17.00 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm (finish times may vary depending on business needs)

About the Role

Smart Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver to join a busy waste management team based in Melton Mowbray.

This is a varied role where you'll be responsible for driving a range of vehicles and supporting essential waste collection and environmental services across the local area.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Refuse Collection Vehicle (RCV).
• Drive a 7.5T vehicle to complete bulky waste collections.
• Carry out fly-tip clearances.
• Deliver wheeled bins and waste containers to customers.
• Assist with loading duties when required.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report any defects.
• Follow all health and safety procedures and road traffic regulations.
• Provide a professional service while representing the company.

Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) Driving Licence.
• Valid Driver CPC Qualification Card.
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
• Previous experience driving an RCV or within the waste management industry is desirable.
• Willingness to assist with manual loading duties.
• Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
