Job summary

Veolia Group in Marchwood is seeking an experienced HGV driver to join our waste management team. You will operate Skip/Hiab, FEL, and RORO vehicles with Tail Lift, move drums and IBCs, and manage waste collections while keeping accurate records.

The role is full-time and on-site at Marchwood Treatment Works, with 40 hours per week and overtime opportunities. A valid HGV Class 2 licence and Driver CPC are required; ADR is desirable and Veolia may support certification.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 2 Licence and experience.
• Current Driver CPC qualification.
• Desirable ADR licence (or commitment to complete ADR at Veolia’s cost).

Responsibilities

• Drive Skip/Hiab, FEL and RORO vehicles with Tail Lift.
• Move 205L drums, IBCs, etc on the packaged hazardous waste side.
• Manage waste collections including hazardous materials, skips and food waste.
• Assist with crushed glass processing in the docks or depot.
• Manage driver paperwork from commencement to completion of the job.
• Liaise with various disposal sites for wastes from internal and external customers.
• Must be flexible to attend Southampton Docks regularly for short notice waste requests from ships.
• Assist with the processing of bags of food waste and crushed glass.
• Processing documentation and maintaining accurate records.

What will you be doing?

With one of the largest growing fleets in the UK, our drivers are pivotal to delivering essential services. They work hard to serve their local communities and make a positive impact every day.

• Driving Skip/ Hiab, FEL vehicles, RORO vehicles and REL vehicles as well as packaged hazardous waste collections in a curtainsider with Tail Lift
• Moving of 205Ltr drums, IBCs etc on the Packaged Hazardous waste side
• Managing waste collections including hazardous materials, skips, and food waste
• Assist with crushed glass processing in the docks or at the depot
• Manage driver paperwork from commencement to completion of the job

What are we looking for?

• Valid HGV Class 2 License and experience
• Current Driver CPC qualification
• Desirable - ADR licence (or a commitment to complete ADR certification at Veolia’s cost)
