Job summary

Smart Solutions are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver to join their growing waste management operation in Sheffield.

You will collect trade waste from commercial customers across the local area, ensure timely and compliant collections, complete paperwork, and support a small team as needed; full training and potential permanent employment offered.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 2 / Category C licence is required.
• Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph are required.
• Class 1 / C+E licence would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Collect trade waste from commercial customers.
• Complete required paperwork accurately.
• Complete daily timesheets for jobs undertaken.
• Report delays caused by traffic, weather or vehicle breakdowns.
• Report access issues and record contaminated loads.
• Work independently or support the crew with loading waste.
• Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with company procedures.

HGV CLASS 2 DRIVER – TRADE WASTE

Location: Sheffield, S9 5FD
Pay: £20.23 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 13:30–23:00
Job Type: Full-time, ongoing

Smart Solutions are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver to join their growing waste management operation in Sheffield.

THE ROLE

You will be responsible for collecting trade waste from commercial customers across the local area, ensuring collections are completed safely, efficiently and in line with all driving and waste regulations.

DUTIES INCLUDE

• Collect trade waste from commercial customers
• Complete all required paperwork accurately
• Complete daily timesheets for jobs undertaken
• Report delays caused by traffic, weather or vehicle breakdowns
• Report access issues and record contaminated loads
• Work independently or support the crew with loading waste
• Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with company procedures

REQUIREMENTS

• Valid HGV Class 2 / Category C licence
• Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph
• Class 1 / C+E licence would be beneficial
• Previous waste industry experience is desirable but not essential
• Good knowledge of local roads
• Reliable and safety-conscious
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
