Job summary

Smart Solutions in Leicester is recruiting HGV Class 2 Drivers for a busy refuse collection operation. You will operate a Class 2 refuse vehicle as part of a team delivering domestic waste collections across residential areas, with a Tuesday to Friday 7:00am–5:00pm pattern and a 4-day weekend.

We offer a guaranteed hours contract with weekly pay every Friday, a £1,000 joining bonus (£500 after 6 weeks and £500 after 12 weeks), plus £150 bonuses after 4 and 8 weeks, and dedicated account

Qualifications

• Valid UK HGV Class 2 (Category C) Licence.
• Driver CPC Qualification Card.
• Digital Tachograph Card.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Positive attitude and willingness to work outdoors.
• Previous waste and recycling experience is beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Class 2 refuse collection vehicle.
• Work alongside loaders to complete daily collection routes.
• Ensure bins are emptied and returned safely to designated locations.
• Complete all scheduled collections and assist with missed bins where required.
• Carry out vehicle checks and report any defects.
• Follow all health and safety, road traffic and operational procedures.

The Role
