Job summary

Smart Solutions are recruiting a HGV Class 2 Driver to join a busy waste management operation based in Trafford Park, Manchester. This is a Monday to Friday role with a night shift pattern and a competitive hourly rate.

Location: Trafford Park. Night rate: £21.09 per hour. Overtime opportunities and potential for permanent employment are available.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 2 / Cat C licence.
• Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Minimum 1 year HGV Class 2 driving experience.
• No more than 6 penalty points on licence.
• No major driving offences (DR, DD, CD or similar).
• Physically fit for manual handling.
• Able to work independently as a lone driver.
• Reliable, punctual and safety-conscious.
• Good knowledge of commercial driving regulations and road safety.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Class 2 Skip or RoRo vehicle safely and professionally.
• Deliver and collect skips and containers across designated routes.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects.
• Ensure loads are secure and transported in accordance with regulations.
• Complete all relevant paperwork accurately.
• Maintain high standards of customer service.
• Comply with Driver Hours, Health & Safety, and company procedures.

Smart Solutions are recruiting on behalf of our client for HGV Class 2 Skip Drivers to join a busy and growing waste management operation based in Trafford Park.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Class 2 Driver looking for a stable Monday to Friday role with competitive pay, overtime opportunities and the potential for permanent employment.

JOB DETAILS

SHIFT PATTERN

Monday to Friday

• 15:00 - 00:30
• £21.09 per hour

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate a Class 2 Skip or RoRo vehicle safely and professionally
• Deliver and collect skips and containers across designated routes
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects
• Ensure loads are secure and transported in accordance with regulations

REQUIREMENTS

• Valid HGV Class 2 / Cat C licence

• No major driving offences, including DR, DD, CD or similar disqualifying offences
• Previous waste industry experience is desirable but NOT essential
• Physically fit and able to carry out manual handling
• Comfortable working independently and as a lone driver
• Reliable, punctual and safety-conscious
• Good knowledge of commercial driving regulations and road safety
