Job summary

We Are Workforce Ltd is recruiting a HGV/LGV Terberg Shunter driver for the Willenhall depot. You will be responsible for moving and parking vehicles and trailers in the yard, following site procedures and company compliance.

The role is primarily shunting (about 95%) with occasional trunking. Training can be provided if you are not Terberg trained. An immediate start is available for suitable candidates.

Qualifications

• UK Driving Licence with a Cat C+E entitlement.
• In date Digi & CPC Card.
• Shunting experience or experienced Class 1 Drivers.

Responsibilities

• Move and park vehicles and trailers in the yard.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and maintain a safe, clean site environment.
• Follow Tariff procedures and despatch to loading bays as required.
• Ensure tachograph procedures are adhered to and comply with Health & Safety rules.
• Assist with deliveries to other depots when required.

Job description

HGV 1 SHUNTER

We are currently recruiting for a HGV/LGV Terberg Shunter driver for our busy Willenhall depot, to be responsible for moving and parking vehicles and trailers in the yard, working to site procedure and within the requirements of company compliance.

Terberg trained or experience is preferred. However for the right candidate training can be provided. The position will be 95 % Shunting with occasional Trunking.

This is an immediate start for successful candidates.

Shift:

• Tuesday - Saturday (start times 18:00 Tuesday to Thursday. Friday + Saturday 14:00)
• 10 hr Shifts

Day pay rates:

• Monday – Friday £17.30 (overtime after 47.5hrs £19.46)
• Saturday £19.46
• Sunday and Bank Holidays £25.95

Nights pay rates:

• Monday – Friday £19.77 (overtime after 47.5hrs £21.92)
• Saturday £21.92
• Sunday and Bank Holidays £28.41

A weekly supplementary Shunting payment also included!

30-minute break deducted per shift only!

Job description

• To ensure a safe, clean, and tidy working environment, adhering to hygiene standards, procedures and the “clean as you go” policy
• Responsible for carrying out daily and weekly vehicle maintenance checks.
• Full trailer audit completed minimum of two per shift.
• Loading bay check (DE010D) sheet fulfilled twice per day
• Daily check list for the yard to be completed.
• To monitor and record trailer temperatures to fulfil audit requirements and in line with procedure.
• Ensure all diesel and milk spillages are controlled in line with company policy
• To safely move trailers from the parking area onto the loading bay, moving to the despatch area once loaded.
• Responsible for following the correct procedures when “hitching and unhitching” the unit to the trailer, ensuring it is securely loaded.
• To adhere to company procedures when reversing in the yard area.
• To ensure that the “tug” or unit is kept clean and tidy inside and out.
• When required, assist with deliveries to other depots, ensuring that the vehicle is not overweight prior to leaving site.
• Responsible for ensuring Tachograph procedures are adhered to.
• Responsible for adhering to relevant systems and procedures in place for Product Safety, Legality and Quality.
• Responsible for adhering to all relevant systems and procedures in place for Health and Safety and Environmental Management.
• To act wholeheartedly in the interests of the company always.
• Controlling of Fuel Deliveries.
• To undertake any other duties as needs indicate.

As a person you will need the following qualities and experience:

• UK Driving Licence with a Cat C+E entitlement.
• In date Digi & CPC Card.
• Shunting experience or experienced Class 1 Drivers
