Job summary

The Recruitment Crowd are recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Shunter/Driver (C+E) for a well known client in the Sheffield area. Shifts run Monday to Sunday starting from 13:00.

Role involves delivering palletised parcels, unloading with tail lift and pump truck, and yard shunting. DCPC and Tachograph required, no more than 6 points, WTD understanding.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and safety-first mindset.
• Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (C+E).
• DCPC and Digital Tachograph are valid and in date.

Responsibilities

• Deliver palletised parcels to sub-depots and collection units.
• Unload/load the vehicle using tail lift and pump truck.
• Shunt trailers to ensure efficient yard operations.

Job description

The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of our well known and industry-leading client based in the Sheffield area. We are looking for multiple HGV Class 1 Shunter/ Driver (CAT C+E) to join the team.

Hours:Shifts across Monday to Sunday, start times from 13:00pm

Pay Rate:£16.50 per hour PAYE

Location:Sheffield, S9

Job Type: Temp to perm after 12 weeks

The role:

• Delivering palletised parcel to sub-depots and collection units
• Driver will be required to unload and load the vehicle using a tail lift and pump truck
• Perform shunting of trailers within the yard to ensure efficient operations.
• Safely maneuver vehicles in tight and busy spaces.
• Conduct pre and post operation vehicle inspections to ensure safety and reliability.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and procedures.
• Coordinate with the yard and dispatch teams to maintain seamless workflow.
• Report any defects or issues promptly to the maintenance team.
• Maintain accurate records of shunting activities and vehicle movements.
• Assist with other yard duties as needed.

Requirements:

• Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (category C+E).
• Experience required, especially reversing
• Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only)
• Full understanding of WTD legislation.
• Excellent communication skills.
• A safety-first mindset.
