Job summary

Stobart is seeking permanent part-time HGV Class 1 drivers for our Carlisle depot to support General Haulage. You will perform store and RDC deliveries, with night shifts (Saturday and Sunday) starting between 17:00–19:00.

We offer flexible patterns to suit availability while prioritising safety and customer service. Pay rates range from £18.10 to £18.41 per hour depending on shift, plus a £5 per shift meal allowance.

Qualifications

• Valid C+E licence and ideally 6+ months HGV Class 1 driving experience (new pass drivers considered).
• No more than 6 points and no DD/DR convictions.
• Current DCPC & Tachograph cards.
• Understand and comply with Driver's hours and WTD legislation.
• Able to perform vehicle checks to ensure safety.
• On-site health and safety compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• General Haulage with Curtainside trailers to Distribution Centres and Stores.
• Collections from Stores to load out to Factories and Distribution Centres.
• Occasional store deliveries and loading/unloading cages.
• Complete all vehicle checks and maintain documentation.
• Maintain high levels of safety, compliance and professionalism.
• Collaborate with transport team for smooth operations.
• Adhere to Driver's hours, WTD and tachograph legislation.

Job description

We are recruiting permanent HGV Class 1 drivers to join us at our depot in Carlisle to support our General Haulage operation, completing store and RDC deliveries across the region. This role is ideal for a HGV driver who takes pride in safe driving, excellent customer service and dependable delivery standards. The roles are

part time , working on a permanent basis, with ideal shift patterns available on Nights below:Saturday and Sundays NightsShifts typically start between 17:00-19:00 .

Pay Rates:

We have increased our pay rates , with rates now ranging from £18.10 to £18.41 per hour , depending on shift – giving you even more reason to build your driving career with us. Saturday and Sunday Night Shift - £18.10 per hour Bank Holidays - £18.41 per hour.On top of base salary our HGV Drivers will be entitled to £5 per shift tax-free meal allowance.

Driver Responsibilities:

• General Haulage with Curtainside trailers, to Distribution Centres and Stores

• Supporting General work, including occasional store deliveries and requirement to load and unload cages
• Completing all necessary vehicle checks and documentation
• Maintaining high levels of safety, compliance, and professionalism
• Working closely with the transport team to ensure smooth operations
• Adhere to Driver's hours, WTD, and tachograph legislation.

Qualifications

• You should hold a valid C+E Licence and ideally have a minimum of 6 months HGV Class 1 driving experience (We will consider New Pass Drivers)
• No more than 6 points and no DD/ DR Code convictions.
• Hold a current valid DCPC & Tacho cards.
• Understand and able to comply with Driver's hours and WTD legislation.
• Able to understand and carry out necessary vehicle checks to ensure vehicle safety and a delet correct.
• Should comply on-site health and safety: requirements.
• Excellent communication skills.
