Stobart is recruiting permanent HGV Class 1 drivers for our Carlisle depot to support General Haulage, delivering to stores and RDCs across the region. The role emphasises safe driving, excellent customer service, and dependable delivery standards.

Part-time, permanent roles with weekend Day Shifts available (Sat and Sun). Shifts typically start 05:00–07:00. Pay rates now £17.60–£18.41 per hour, with £5 per shift meal allowance. We aim to accommodate preferred start times where possible.

Formación

• Must hold a valid C+E Licence and ideally have a minimum of 6 months HGV Class 1 driving experience (New Pass Drivers considered).
• No more than 6 points and no DD/ DR convictions.
• Hold a current valid DCPC & Tachograph cards.
• Understand and able to comply with Driver's hours and WTD legislation.
• Able to understand and carry out necessary vehicle checks to ensure vehicle safety and report defects.
• Should comply with on-site health and safety requirements.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• General Haulage with Curtainside trailers, to Distribution Centres and Stores.
• Collections from Stores to load out to Factories and Distribution Centres.
• Supporting General work, including occasional store deliveries and requirement to load and unload cages.
• Completing all necessary vehicle checks and documentation.
• Maintaining high levels of safety, compliance, and professionalism.
• Working closely with the transport team to ensure smooth operations.
• Adhere to Driver's hours, WTD, and tachograph legislation.

We are recruiting permanent HGV Class 1 drivers to join us at our depot in Carlisle to support our General Haulage operation, completing store and RDC deliveries across the region. This role is ideal for a HGV driver who takes pride in safe driving, excellent customer service and dependable delivery standards.

The roles are

part time , working on a permanent basis, with ideal shift patterns available on Days below:Saturday and SundayShifts typically start between 05:00-07:00 . We offer flexibility in shift patterns, so if these start dates and times don't quite suit your availability, let us know what you're looking for, we'll do our best to accommodate your preferences.

Pay Rates:

We have increased our pay rates , with rates now ranging from £17.60 to £18.41 per hour , depending on shift – giving you even more reason to build your driving career with us. Saturday and Sunday Day Shift - £17.60 per hour Bank Holidays - £18.41 per hour. On top of base salary our HGV Drivers will be entitled to £5 per shift tax-free meal allowance
