Job summary

Culina Group is recruiting permanent HGV Class 1 drivers for our Penrith operations to support our General Haulage activity, delivering from stores to distribution centres regionally. Night shifts are typical, with Monday to Friday nights and start times around 17:00–19:00, offering flexible patterns to fit availability.

Pay rates have increased to £15.80–£18.41 per hour depending on shift, plus a tax-free £5 per shift meal allowance.

Responsibilities

• General Haulage with Curtainside trailers to Distribution Centres and Stores
• Collections from Stores to load out to Factories and Distribution Centres
• Supporting General work, including occasional store deliveries and loading/unloading cages
• Completing all necessary vehicle checks and documentation
• Maintaining high levels of safety, compliance, and professionalism
• Working closely with the transport team to ensure smooth operations
• Adhere to Driver’s hours, WTD, and tachograph legislation.

Job description

We are recruiting permanent HGV Class 1 drivers to join us at our operations in Penrith to support our General Haulage operation, completing store and RDC deliveries across the region. This role is ideal for a HGV driver who takes pride in safe driving, excellent customer service and dependable delivery standards.

The roles are full time, working on a permanent basis, with ideal shift patterns available on Nights below:

• Monday to Friday Nights

Shifts typically start between 17:00-19:00. We offer flexibility in shift patterns, so if these start dates and times don’t quite suit your availability, let us know what you’re looking for, we’ll do our best to accommodate your preferences.

Pay Rates:

We have increased our pay rates, with rates now ranging from £15.80 to £18.41 per hour, depending on shift – giving you even more reason to build your driving career with us.

• Mon-Fri Nights- £15.80per hour
• Saturday and Sunday Nights- £18.10per hour
• Bank Holidays – £18.41 per hour.

On top of base salary our HGV Drivers will be entitled to £5 per shift tax-free meal allowance.
