Job summary

Great Bear is hiring a HGV Class 1 Driver for Night shifts. Start times from 13:00 to 17:00, with shifts Thursday to Monday. You will deliver to customer premises, manage backdoor tip loads and occasionally assist with multi-drop deliveries.

Some night-out work may be required; you will report at shift start and sign PODs. Requirements include a valid C+E license, 12+ months class 1 experience, up to 6 points, and CPC/digital tachograph cards.

Qualifications

• Valid C+E License.
• Minimum 12 months' HGV Class 1 driving experience preferred.
• No more than 6 points on your license and no DD or DR convictions.
• Current valid UK Driver CPC qualification card and Digital Tachograph cards.
• Good understanding of Driver's Hours and Working Time Directive legislation.
• Ability to complete vehicle checks and report defects correctly.
• Commitment to on-site health and safety requirements.
• Excellent communication skills and a professional approach.

Responsibilities

• Carry out safe, professional deliveries to customer premises.
• Complete general haulage deliveries to Regional Distribution Centres, with most deliveries as backdoor tip.
• Support occasional driver tipping or multi-drop deliveries depending on customer demand.
• Occasional Night out may be required.
• Report to the Transport team at the start of each shift and communicate delays or issues promptly.
• Complete all paperwork accurately and ensure PODs are signed and returned to the Transport Office.
• Follow company rules and procedures, including health, safety and hygiene standards.
• Manage your working time in line with the Road Transport Directive and tachograph rules.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects correctly.
• Take responsibility for the unit and trailer, including temperature checks where required.
• Maintain a high standard of behaviour, appearance and customer service.

HGV Class 1 Driver- Nights| Permanent Full-Time Opportunities

Start Times: 13:00 - 17:00

Available Shift Patterns: Thursday - Monday

Salary: £17.04 per hour , plus a £1.50 per hour uplift for weekend shifts and £1.50 per hour for hours between 6pm & 4am. Overtime is paid at 1.3x the hourly rate for all hours over 50 hours per week.

What You'll Be Doing
