Job summary

Culina is recruiting permanent HGV Class 1 drivers for the Morrisons RDC in Bellshill to support Rail Container operations, transporting shipping containers to sites across Cumbria and Scotland. Nights start 17:00–19:00, with pay rates £14.60–£18.41 per hour depending on shift, plus a £5 per shift meal allowance.

Roles are full-time and require safety‑minded, reliable delivery with excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Valid C+E Licence plus ideally 6 months HGV Class 1 driving experience.
• No more than 6 points and no DD/DR convictions.
• Hold a current DCPC & Tachograph cards.
• Understand Driver’s hours and WTD legislation.
• Able to perform vehicle checks and report defects.
• Comply with on-site health and safety requirements.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Load containers from railheads using Skelly trailers.
• Deliver containers to customer sites.
• Support general haulage operations as required.
• Perform all necessary vehicle checks and complete documentation.
• Maintain high levels of safety, compliance and professionalism.
• Collaborate with transport team to ensure smooth operations.
• Adhere to Driver’s Hours, WTD and tachograph rules.

Job Description

We are recruiting permanent HGV Class 1 drivers to join us, working out of the Morrisons RDC in Bellshill, to support our Rail Container operations, transporting shipping containers from railheads and terminals to customer sites throughout Cumbria and Scotland. This role is ideal for a HGV driver who takes pride in safe driving, excellent customer service and dependable delivery standards.

The roles are full time, working on a permanent basis and due to Rail timetables require a 17:00-19:00 start for Nights

Pay Rates:

We have increased our pay rates, with rates now ranging from £14.60 to £18.41 per hour, depending on shift - giving you even more reason to build your driving career with us.

• Mon-Fri Night Shift - £15.80 per hour
• Saturday and Sunday Night Shift - £18.10 per hour
• Bank Holidays - £18.41 per hour.

On top of base salary our HGV Drivers will be entitled to £5 per shift tax-free meal allowance.

Driver Responsibilities:

• Load Containers out of Railheads using Skelly Trailers
• Collecting and Delivering Containers to Customer sites
• Supporting General Haulage operation as required
• Completing all necessary vehicle checks and documentation
• Maintaining high levels of safety, compliance, and professionalism
• Working closely with the transport team to ensure smooth operations
• Adhere to Driver's hours, WTD, and tachograph legislation.
