Job summary

Culina is recruiting permanent HGV Class 1 drivers to join our Cannock site supporting General Haulage across the region, delivering to stores and RDCs with a focus on safety and customer service. Role requires completing vehicle checks, following driver hours, and reporting defects.

• No more than 6 points; no DD/DR convictions.
• DCPC and Tachograph cards held.

Job description

We are recruiting permanent HGV Class 1 drivers to join us at our Cannock site to support our General Haulage operation, completing store and RDC deliveries across the region. This role is ideal for a HGV driver who takes pride in safe driving, excellent customer service and dependable delivery standards.

Responsibilities

• Supporting General work, including occasional store deliveries and requirement to load and unload cages
• Completing all necessary vehicle checks and documentation
• Maintaining high levels of safety, compliance, and professionalism
• Working closely with the transport team to ensure smooth operations
• Adhere to Driver's hours, WTD, and tachograph legislation.
  You should hold a valid C+E Licence and ideally have a minimum of 6 months HGV Class 1 driving experience (We will consider New Pass Drivers)
• No more than 6 points and no DD/ DR Code convictions.
• Hold a current valid DCPC & Tacho cards.
• Understand and able to comply with Driver's hours and WTD legislation.
• Able to understand and carry out necessary vehicle checks to ensure vehicle safety and able to report defects correctly.
• Should comply with on-site health and safety requirements.
• Excellent communication skills.

The roles are full time, working on a permanent basis and we have a variety of shift patterns including Nights (between 20:00 - 23:00 starts). Ideal shift patterns are below:

Preferred shift patterns

• Tuesday to Saturday
• Sunday to Thursday
• Friday to Tuesday
• Saturday to Wednesday

Pay rates

Pay Rates: We have increased our pay rates, with rates now ranging from £14.60 to £18.41 per hour, depending on shift - giving you even more reason to build your driving career with us.

• Mon‑Fri Night Shift - £15.80 per hour
• Saturday and Sunday Night Shift - £18.10 per hour
• Bank Holidays - £18.41 per hour.

On top of base salary our HGV Drivers will be entitled to £5 per shift tax‑free meal allowance, and £25 per night out tax‑free allowance (if applicable), as part of our drive to make Culina transport a great place to work.
