Job summary

Veolia in Tyseley is seeking a Class 1 driver to join our waste operations. You will drive, load waste, and ensure safe, compliant transit to planned collections while performing daily checks and reporting any defects.

Requirements include a Cat C+E licence, CP/DIGI card, and experience in waste transport; local area knowledge is a plus. The role offers full-time hours and a competitive, annual salary with benefits.

Qualifications

• Cat C+E (Class 1) licence and previous driving experience.
• Driver CP/DIGI card.
• Desirable: Local geographical knowledge, including experience of driving in the area.
• Experience in transport of waste and use of walking floor trailers.

Responsibilities

• With one of the largest growing fleets in the UK, our drivers are pivotal to delivering essential services.
• Driving to planned collections locations and loading waste into a walking floor trailer.
• Ensure the vehicle is safely loaded, operated and driven at all times while collecting, transporting or tipping waste.
• Undertake daily pre-use vehicle checks and report defects to the transport office.
• Comply with traffic laws and keep the work environment safe and clean.
• Ensure all scheduled work is completed and compliant.

Salary: up to £50,031.02 per annum

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday Nights 18:00pm - 02:45am (45 minute unpaid lunch break)

Location: Tyseley, Castle Bromwich, B35 7AG
