Job summary

Veolia is hiring a HGV Driver (Category C/C1) in London. This 36-hour-per-week role runs Monday to Friday, 1 PM–9 PM, with a 48-minute unpaid break. Location is Hammersmith and Fulham with a weekly £380.04 uplift if in a 5-week rota cycle, plus benefits and pension options.

You will conduct safety inspections, drive in accordance with laws, communicate with management, and ensure regulatory compliance. Previous waste experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Class 2 licence required.
• CPC/DIGI card up-to-date.
• Ability to work confidently within a team environment.
• Must have good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-trip and end-of-shift vehicle inspections for road worthiness and safety compliance.
• Operate the vehicle safely, adhering to traffic laws and HGV regulations.
• Communicate with Management regarding issues and updates.
• Report mechanical issues to the workshop promptly.
• Ensure compliance with drivers' hours regulations and mandatory rest breaks.
• Desirable: experience in Waste sorting and onboarding ECHO procedures.
• Maintain a professional relationship with Management and clients.
• Follow health and safety protocols at all times.
• Keep the vehicle clean and well maintained.

Salary: £34,379.09 per annum plus Veolia benefits.
