Job summary

People Solutions are recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our client in Hyde, Manchester. You will deliver food products using Category CE vehicles and ensure loads are secured before departure.

Shifts are Monday to Friday with day and night options. You will earn £17.50–£18.50 per hour, with weekly pay and on-site facilities including parking and vending.

Qualifications

• Valid UK Category CE Driving Licence
• Valid Driver CPC Qualification Card
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card
• Minimum 2 years HGV Class 1 driving experience preferred
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Professional, reliable and safety-conscious approach to work

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate Category CE vehicles
• Deliver food products to store locations
• Ensure loads are securely fastened before departure
• Carry out pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Report vehicle defects or issues promptly
• Complete deliveries timely and professionally
• Communicate delays or issues to transport office
• Comply with Driver Hours Regulations and UK road laws
• Complete all required paperwork and electronic records

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Hyde, Manchester.

This is an excellent opportunity offering competitive rates of pay, consistent work, and a professional working environment.

This role would suit candidates with experience as an LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver or Articulated Lorry Driver.

Rates of Pay:

• Days: £17.50 per hour
• Nights: £18.50 per hour

Shift Pattern:

Day-to-Day Duties:

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will work:

• Safely and efficiently operating Category CE vehicles
• Delivering food products to store locations
• Ensuring all loads are safely secured before departure
• Carrying out pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Reporting vehicle defects or issues promptly
• Completing deliveries in a timely and professional manner
• Communicating effectively with the transport office regarding delays or issues
• Complying with Driver Hours Regulations, the Working Time Directive, and UK road traffic legislation
• Completing all required paperwork and electronic records accurately

Essential Skills:

To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:

• A valid UK Category CE Driving Licence
• A valid Driver CPC Qualification Card
• A valid Digital Tachograph Card
• A minimum of two years' HGV Class 1 driving experience preferred
• No more than six penalty points for minor offences (no IN10, DR10, or DD10 endorsements)
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• A professional, reliable, and safety-conscious approach to work

Training:

• Paid site induction
• Full industry-related training
• Ongoing support throughout your assignment
• Experience handling double-decker trailers would be advantageous
• Additional training and support provided where required
